What i did on my annual leaves
Finally i have the mood to update on what I’ve done on my 2 annual leaves. Colleagues were teasing me about taking nice breaks during the last part of the semester.
I do wish i could take relaxing breaks, but i am not actually relaxing.
The first leave was taken to do a Basic Gynae Health Screen at KK Hospital. After receiving the pamphlet on pap smear from the Health Promotion Board and after hearing all the ‘horror’ stories from girl friends who have been through female health screenings, i’ve decided to book a session for myself on a weekday, where it will be less crowded.
The process of doing pap smear is not as scary as I thought. The most important thing is to try to relax and take in deep long breathes. Imagine yourself falling asleep at the cool beaches at Bintan, and after a few seconds, the swab is done.
What makes things a bit “worst” for me was, the gynae doing the pap smear was handsome and so gentle. Awww… sometimes i do regret getting a male gynae. My mum told me male gynaes are generally more calmer in times of emergencies and they are more decisive in making important decisions. This is also what i’ve noted from the forums. Oh well.
The second leave I’ve took recently is to see the same gynae for my health screen results. I’ve waited for the results anxiously for two weeks! and at some of the nights, I couldn’t sleep at all, kept thinking about the results. Though the results are normal this time round, I’ve decided to make health screening an annual event. Looks like the older you grow, the weaker your health will be.
But one thing I’ve realized is, even if one has cleared a health screen, it doesnt mean you are 100% healthy. Remember the recent case? Some problems cannot be detected through a health screen.
I ended the second half of the day of my second leave at NATAS fair @ Expo with my two buddies. Was there for a whole freaking 6 hours just to get the BBK package we want. But it’s really worth the search and wait as we got a good deal at our last station
