Pls go away ‘wind’
It’s been 2 weeks since i last touched a cup of bubble tea or a scoop of ice-cream. Perhaps i should be giving them all up till my health forbids.
The trip to China sometime ago had given me a chance to approach one of the prestigious Chinese doctors there and i mentioned vaguely about my recurring stomach wind condition.
Upon hearing that, he started to pick up my wrists and started “reading” those pulses [whatever you call that]. He went into deep thoughts for a while [perhaps making mental notes] before speaking to me. I was told, rather jokingly seriously, by the physician to refrain from cold stuffs for a long period of time. My stomach had lots of cold ‘wind’ and was not good for my health for a long while.
My mind started to flash back on my first stomach wind occurrence. That was 8 years back when I struggled with my first career and had been dutifully skipping and delaying meals on and off during the hectic and crazy periods.
My first terrible gastric pain started one fine day and lasted for a week after. It seemed to weaken my stomach lining and function real badly [almost to a point of no return], and stomach wind became a norm after that.
At least it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. This episode made me decide to give up my favorite bubble tea and ice-cream for good; and slowly perhaps western food will also be taken off from my list too.
