My Absolute boyfriend
I got a bad headache these two weeks, it’s not exactly migraine, but i feel that I need a break somehow. I think I must have over-stressed myself on work too much. The only solace I can find is to watch some short comedies which could let off some of my steam and emotional pressures. Japanese Manga-based drama ‘Absolute Boyfriend‘ saved my nights.
I simply loved this drama. You can configure your perfect boyfriend! If we don’t need babies in this world, i think i can make do with a handsome robot lover who can give in to my whims anytime. The only problem is, ‘he’ needs to recharge his energy every night and requires some maintenance once in a while.
This show resembles the English movie ‘i-robot‘ where the robot starts to develop a mind of his own. He looks for work when his programmed A.I a.ka. artificial intelligence sense that his girlfriend needs the $$. Woo, how nice. I wonder if he could take my classes too if i ever own him.
A well programmed ‘love’ has became a genuine love for the main cast ‘Riko’, a simple office girl who desires an ideal lover. The robot was loaned to Riko for a trial period of 5 days, and he responses accordingly to what he has been programmed to do. However, as days went by, the programme started to show some irregularities when the robot started to make his own decisions, and his reactions went beyond what was initially programmed.
He actually started to develop genuine love for Riko…

Friends are there forever
‘Friends’ are the most important species in this world. Without them, life will be bored and meaningless.
I always treasure the time I spent with my JC and secondary school friends, as they are the ones who have been with me on a longer journey as compared to Uni friends.
Recently, we had another gathering. It’s supposed to be a complete union of the girls from the JC class, but atlas, two of them have to work over the weekends and one was sick at home.
What makes this outing so special is, one of the girls had came back from Hong Kong for a short visit with her 8th month old son. She migrated to Hong Kong 2 years back and it’s so rare to have an outing with her around that i practically had to push all other appointments on that day away. I can’t miss seeing her and her son this time.
We had our lunch gathering at a place called ‘Friends’ in Serangoon Garden village. The food is generally nice but the portion is a bit small for big eaters like myself. Furthermore, i think we spent more time playing with the kid than to actually savour the goodness of our lunch. They have a 1 for 1 set lunch promotion during this period.
The day ended with the most dreadful question from my friends,
‘So when is your turn to have a kid??‘..
i am not going to answer this question at the moment because i personally feel that a kid is a gift from heaven. I am sure I will be blessed with one as soon as heaven knows i am ready to be a mum.
Winter Sonata
This drama was produced in 2002 and yet it took me 5 years to get acquaintance with it. It’s all because of The Legend that is currently showing on Channel U during the weekends.
I will not be attracted to this drama if not for the male lead actor- Bae Yong Jun. He is not that handsome but i was attracted more to his natural charisma and heart-melting smile. To make things worst, i have a terrible fetish for guys with spectacles. Sshhh..
I followed the story for quite a few days and frankly speaking i really hate the way they drag the storyline. Some things and issues that can be straight forwardly done are deliberately elaborated and spanned across a few episodes. Aww… if not for the famous cute actor, i would have stopped watching it from episode 3 when he lost his memory and skipped to the last episode where they reunited finally happily again.
Ah, this speaks so much of my personal management style which I’ve adopted in my working journey. I am one who don’t bother about processes (as in how things gets done) but rather, i prefer to see results and deliverables.
I still remembered vividly that i only watch the 1st and last disc of the movie ‘Titanic’. I totally skipped the second disc. Hahaa… oh well….
No more lengthy romance dramas for me after this.
