Yesterday afternoon, we had our last childbirth education with Mdm Chong. (Finally got her name!)
The funny thing is, we only got to know our trainer’s name when we were asked to fill in a feedback form towards the end of the lesson.
You see, we were late for the very first lesson so we thought probably that’s why my hubby and I didn’t catch her name. But while asking around yesterday, we realized a few other couples were also clueless about her name!

The lesson yesterday was pretty meaningful as she talks about breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Yes, breastfeeding is good. It can help you to get rid of the excess fats in the body. Indirectly, it can slim the mummy down without having to take weight loss pills. However, this is not applicable for all people. Some of my colleagues breastfed too, but their weight did not shed off as expected. >_<
The trainer said that the only difference between breast milk and formula milk is, the breast milk has natural anti-bodies for the baby. And if you are those type that treats confinement seriously, you have to make some sacrifices for your body in order to breastfeed. For example, it’s good for the mother in the long term to drink DOM and other wine during confinement, but you can’t if you want to breastfeed, as the alcohol content could harm the baby’s liver.
And if you are breastfeeding, you got to bathe everyday, to reduce the fungi production on the skin and breast. But this will sent my mum and in-laws screaming away if i were to bathe everyday. There are already true cases of women getting bad rheumatism when they get older if they neglect this during confinement.
Well, for a start, i shall get a manual pump instead. Probably will only breastfed during the 4 months of maternity leave.
