Online backup

in Friends

I’ve finally settled the discussion with my good friends last night. So nice of them to drop by my place twice for two long discussions. I am still keeping a suspense on what the 3 aunties are doing at the moment.

During the period of discussion, we have discovered the importance of having an online backup. There are a number of files to be shared amongst us, and it’s pretty hard to assess them if we were to email one another whenever there’s an update. So having an online storage seems useful for team discussions. :)

With online backups it has never been easier to backup your data. There is a new online backup product powered by Amazon S3 reliable and cost efficient storage. You can sign-up for beta at http://cloudberrydrive.com

Lot of people is shifting their focus on online backup option now since reliability of any hard drive is questionable. What if the hard drive is misplaced or gets stolen, your precious data is gone. So it’s better to store the data remotely. There are many backup services available now days that lets you take automatic, incremental scheduled backup. I would recommend Backupandshare.com to all home users, it is the easiest I have seen so far but with almost everything you need as an online backup application. I choose this service over a 6 month ago and have been very happy with them.

another concern could be, what happens if the backup provider suddenly went “missing”? there goes your precious data if you did not keep an offline copy on your own hard disk. i think there are bound to have risks no matter what options of backup one choose to take.

yes, I agree, but again chances of misplacing a USB drive or corrupt your hard disk and loosing the data are more. What if this USB drive gets stolen or hard disk get corrupted? In such cases it is better to keep your data backed up online. The chances of backup provider went down is very rare. At least with online storage you can
access your data from anywhere.
My current online backup provider BackupandShare.com is taking good care of my precious data, so far fantastic service from them. Very cost-effective and user friendly!!
